Mary Schmidt-Read, PT, DPT, MS serves the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of the Delaware Valley as the Spinal Cord Injury Program Director and Research Coordinator at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Mary has been part of the SCI Center for over 20 years and served as a physical therapist, administrator and a researcher. She is responsible for the daily operations of the rehabilitation continuum of the RSCICDV and the coordination between Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital for clinical services and research. Mary also supports research projects spanning the spinal cord center, either administratively or clinically, including direct responsibility for the 5 year NIH study on Body Weight Supported Ambulation Training with acute SCI. Mary’s background also includes extensive academic teaching, including the topic of care of persons with spinal cord injury.
