Dr. Flanders is a Professor of Radiology and Rehabilitation Medicine in the Department of Radiology and Co-Director of the Division of Neuroradiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1983, and he completed a Radiology Residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center followed by a Neuroradiology Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is board certified in Radiology and in Neuroradiology.
He is a member of the Acute SCI Team by facilitating safe, rapid and innovative diagnostic imaging methods for the evaluation of spinal and spinal cord injured. Dr. Flanders has been instrumental in promoting and incorporating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) protocols as part of the initial clinical evaluation of SCI at the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of the Delaware Valley.
In addition, Dr. Flanders has published and lectured extensively on the benefits of MRI in the evaluation of SCI and on the use of this technology to complement clinical evaluations to predict outcomes.
